The Canterbury Magicians are the latest team to announce an overseas player signing, with South Australian allrounder Maddie Penna returning for the imminent Dream11 Super Smash summer.
A right-handed batter and leg-break tweaker, Penna's a veteran of 83 T20 matches across her career, and four of those appearances were for the Magicians last summer.
Notably she snaffled a haul of 3/4 against eventual champion side Wellington Blaze in the Mags' home clash at Hagley Oval.
Penna will join the Cantabrian women fresh off her latest season of the Women's Big Bash League across the Tasman where she starred for the Adelaide Strikers with 170 runs at a 137.09 strike rate.
The 24-year-old is the latest overseas professional to sign on across the New Zealand league ahead of the first match on Boxing Day.
She joins England's Hollie Armitage for the Central Hinds, Aussie Amanda-Jade Wellington for Northern Brave and Scottish-born England spinner Kirstie Gordon for the Otago Sparks - all of them returning for another whirl with their Kiwi teams.
The Magicians will be in action from this Friday, 27 December when they begin their 2024/25 campaign away at Alexandra's beautiful Molyneux Park to resume their southern rivalry with the Otago Sparks.
