First finalists found!

Defending champion Wellington Blaze and the solid Otago Sparks are both through to next weekend's big Dream11 Super Smash Finals in the capital.

Blaze's 10-wicket drubbing of the Canterbury Magicians at Hagley Oval not only put themselves through, but the Sparks as well - but who will head direct to the Grand Final and which teams will be facing off in the 2v3 Elimination Final the day before is yet to be determined.

Currently level on 24 points, qualification realised the Blaze dream of Finals on their home turf of the Cello Basin Reserve (hosting the big events on 1 and 2 February), and also, keeps the Otago Sparks's dream alive of a perfect send-off for their outgoing coach, Craig Cumming.

But the Sparks now suddenly sit lower than the Blaze on net run rate after Blaze's Rebecca Burns (69* off 41) and Melie Kerr (32* off 27) chased down their Hagley target in just 11.2 overs.

And, the Sparks have only one round left, against well performed Northern Brave at Bay Oval this Saturday, while the Blaze has two rounds still to go in order to ink in the top spot.

Advantage Blaze?

The third spot in the women's comp at Finals weekend is still up for grabs. Tickets to the Finals days, beginning at on Saturday 1 February (Elimination Finals) and Sunday 2 February (Grand Finals), are available now at www.supersmash.co.nz
