As Northern Brave fights for the last spot available in the women's Dream11 Super Smash Finals, the northerners have announced their latest overseas signing.
A leg-spinner and hard-hitter, England international Sarah Glenn is a like-for-like swap for Amanda-Jade Wellington who has now headed back to Australia for the resumption of her country's domestic one-day competition.
Glenn was just across the Tasman herself, having been playing for England there against Australia in the recent T20 International series, and is no stranger to New Zealand audiences after her appearances against the WHITE FERNS as well.
The 25-year-old has amassed 72 T20 International caps for England over the past five years, and has played more than 200 professional T20s overall, bringing a suitcase full of big match experience.
It could be exactly what Northern Brave needs in their quest to not only make the top three that are heading the Cello Basin Reserve - with Wellington Blaze and the Otago Sparks already booking their tickets; but to wrest a title that has eluded the Brave women every season since the women's competition began in 2007/08.
Northern Brave is the only side that has yet to appear in a Grand Final, after a breakthrough appearance in last summer's Elimination Final brought disappointment at the hands of the Central Hinds.
