The contest for the last spot in the women’s Dream11 Super Smash Finals is down to two teams, after Northern Brave bumped out the Canterbury Magicians this afternoon in Christchurch.
The Otago Sparks and Wellington Blaze are already qualified for the weekend’s deciders at the Cello Basin Reserve; and the Central Hinds and Magicians are out of contention for the top three — leaving Jess Watkin’s Northern Brave and Maddy Green’s Auckland Hearts in a race to nab the last qualifying berth.
Both teams have just one more game to go, with the Brave now in third spot on the ladder, two points above the Hearts.

The Hearts play the bottom-of-the-table Hinds in Napier tomorrow, and can reach 22 points if they win.
That won’t be enough if Brave wins their final round this Thursday in Wellington — against defending champion, Wellington Blaze.
A victory at the Basin would sweep Brave into the top three for the second straight year, lifting them beyond the Hearts’ reach to 24 points.
So as they say, it’s going right down to the wire this season — the last two doubleheaders are high stakes, watch the action on TVNZ+ and TVNZ Duke free to air in New Zealand.
